Big Girl Birthday!

Karlee turned 8 years old this week! I feel so old! She wanted to get pedicures with a few of her friends. She has been really lucky the last 2 years and school has been out on her birthday for Teacher Development Days. So, we had her friends come over for pizza and presents at lunch time...

They were so funny...8 year olds are quite silly...especially girls!

Then we headed to the Primrose Retreat Day Spa, which has a "Spoiled Rotten" room for little girls. It was this adorable room full of dress-ups, a catwalk, karaoke, a huge couch for pedicures, etc. The girls spent the first 45 minutes dressing up, and walking the catwalk (which had a video of themselves in front of them...they thought they were quite the supermodels)...then the pedicures began!


After all the fanciness they had a pink hot chocolate and cupcakes tea party. The girls were in heaven! This party was one of the girliest things I have ever seen!

I can't believe my baby is growing up so fast...Karlee we love you so much and are so proud of you! Happy Birthday!

Pirate Ship!

My Dad is in town this week working and visiting us for Karlee's baptism. He is making a run up to Idaho and decided to leave his trailer out in front of our house for 2 days. The kids saw this as a great opportunity to play pirate ship! I love kid's imagination...if you squint your eyes it probably really does look like a ship....the spare tire is even a steering wheel! Anyways, either the kids are pretty creative or we have officially been watching too much "Peter Pan" lately!

Go, Kids, Go!

Just to fill you in on Karlee's and Rylee's latest triumphs...Karlee has been working on "arials" (no-handed cartwheels) for awhile now. We knew she could do it, but she had to get over the fear. Well, she finally did it and I am amazed at the things she can accomplish! What a strong kid!



Rylee had her biggest belt test yet at karate this week too! She tested up to the next belt, broke another board with her foot and has moved up to the advanced kid kickers class! She is so intense when she does her karate stuff and it's great to see her doing so well...we couldn't be prouder, Rys!

Oops!

Here's what Bubba looks like when you go to give him a haircut and accidently forget to put the clip on the clippers! I thought it was funny that after I did this and cleaned him up he said, "This is a nice buzz!" I find him rubbing his head all the time now. I guess if we look on the bright side...he won't have to have another haircut for awhile...but Jake says I have to go out and buy him a beanie. I guess a good close shave can get a little chilly in the wind???!!!

Popcorn and Lemonade!

Here are Audree and Spencer having a little afternoon snack. I just thought they were so cute sitting on the porch together...I had to shoot a picture! Notice Spencer is not dressed...he was wearing clothes about 2 minutes earlier...but then he spilled half the lemonade on himself and I stripped him down. Right after I got all mad and took his clothes in the house I came down the stairs and saw this moment. Sometimes we just need a little reminder that between the nagging and neediness...they really are just adorable and sweet!

P.S. He just spilled the popcorn too...it really is a good thing he's so darn cute!
