Happy Easter!

Easter morning was bright and early! The kids were excited about the baskets and...the chocolate! The Easter Bunny must have felt bad that Spencer's birthday is so close to Christmas, so he got a special Thomas the Train set. The thing about Spencer is that he becomes completely attached to things extremely quickly! That train hasn't left his side in over 24 hours!

Thank you Grandma GiGi for the adorable Easter dresses...the girls were SO excited to wear them to church today! This was my attempt at getting a picture of all of my kids together...out of like 20 attempts, not a single one had all 4 of them looking at me!
So, I gave in and decided to capture the backs of their dresses instead!

Hike to Y Mountain

The kids have been begging for several weeks to hike to the "Y" and we've been telling them we would when the weather was better. Today seemed like a good day, cloudy, but warm (by Utah standards anyway). So, we were going to take Spencer, but at the last minute Jenny, Candice and Judy said they would play with him...which ended up being a great idea! It's a pretty good hike and I was impressed with how well the girls did on it! They loved that Brooke and Lauren decided to join us! It was a great workout and the view was unbeatable!

We all felt pretty strong...at least in the beginning!
We got lucky because as soon as we reached the "Y", the weather got cold and the clouds began to build...from way up there we saw a raining cloud headed our way and quickly began our descent back down! A few raindrops to cool us off and our trip was done! It really was a perfect little escape and the kids enjoyed the whole thing! I think they are going to sleep really well tonight...I know I am!

Easter Eggs!

Tonight was Easter Egg decorating night...one broken egg and a half-eaten crayon later...we had a nice set of brightly colored "stinky eggs" (as Jake likes to call them). Hooray for Spring!

Conference Weekend!

We really enjoyed a relaxing conference weekend as a family! Thanks to my cousin, Paige, for sending a great new waffle recipe...it was my first attempt at sourdough! Brooke and Lauren (Brooke's best friend who is pretty much family) came over for whipped cream with a little waffles and strawberries (if you know what I mean!). Then we all watched the morning session of conference together...Karlee and Rylee even gave us all foot massages (more like a tickling session) while we watched!

Then after the last session of conference we headed over to the Clark's for dinner and an Easter Egg hunt! Judy was so great and must have stuffed 100 eggs for the kiddies...who actually enjoyed the eggs stuffed with chocolate more than the ones with money! The kids also made Easter drawings for Uncle Sean on his mission! It was so great to have a nice day between the snowy and cold ones!

Rylee insisted on using this doctor bag to collect eggs...she brought it from home for this sole purpose. She is so funny to me!

Audree worked really hard on this picture for Uncle Sean, she was really concentrating and even drew a couple "A's" for "Audree" on it!

Spence can hardly wait to hit the t-ball circuit!! We've been practicing his hand-eye coordination with bubbles lately...he LOVES it!

You look FABULOUS!

Here is how Audree dressed herself to out for treats with the family tonight. It was snowing today...which, of course, explains the swimsuit...so I guess the socks were supposed to keep her legs warm! I didn't make her change...whatever, she was perfectly happy with this ensemble.

Let me catch you up...

It has been awhile since I have been able to sit down and blog...so let me fill you in on the latest. First of all, last week I had had it with the incessant need for snacks at our house. Honestly, the kids in the house could NOT finish a snack or meal without asking for the next and everybody wanted something different...it went on ALL DAY!! One wanted "smarshmellows" another "fishy crackers" and the other a juice sippie...then one wanted a "nanna" and another some popcorn and someone wanted chocolate milk...so I finally declared a "NO SNACK WEEK!". At first they thought it was alright...then they just started going to friends houses to play (and eat their snacks) and eventually it was reduced to begging at the end, but we made it...and I discovered how much better they all eat dinner when they haven't eaten in a couple hours!! Anyways, we have decided that they can have one snack a day now and they still beg...but I hold my ground!!!!

This is my Audree...I love her! She is fun, full of energy and everybody's friend! Just the other day I took her to preschool and Spencer didn't realize she was gone...he went looking for her and came back to my room with the saddest look on his face. He said, "Mom, where Audree? Can't find her." I said, "Oh, she's at preschool." and he was really bummed that his friend was gone.
The next day a little friend invited Audree to play during the time of day when her and Rylee ususally play...Rylee was totally bummed and said, "But Mom, what am I going to do?" They really play SO well together!

Here is my little buddy. This last week he found his pockets! I went to get him up from his nap and he had a huge smile on his face and said, "Trucks...in pants!" and he had put his little car (the one that he HAS to sleep with) in one of his pockets. The rest of the afternoon he searched for more things he could put in his pants. I LOVE all the boyish things he does and something about finding his pockets just made me laugh! Oh, and in this picture he is giving me his binky becuase he finally chewed holes in them all and I will not buy him new ones...so it's been a rough go, but he is giving up the binky.

Karlee Jayne has been so busy growing up...that tooth finally came out...her friend accidently hit her while doing a clap game and the tooth went flying. Even though they never found it the tooth fairy came through, and she looks so much better! She also has learned how to do a round-off triple backhandspring this week!! I am completley impressed....I have NEVER done such a thing! She can do it on the bouncy floor at gymnastics...I know she can do it on the grass too...but she just needs a little more confidence.
Rylee just accomplished a big family milestone too! She knew how to ride her bike, but has been totally scared of going further than around the church across the street. As a family, when it's warm outside we love to go on bike rides after dinner. We told Rylee that she is too big to go in the "chariot" behind Dad's bike this year...she has to ride her own bike. After MUCH discussion we got her on the bike and we haven't been able to get her off of it since!! We have gone a some bike rides and it's all she has talked about for the past several days. You're awesome Rys!

That's what we've been up to!!

Joe-Bob Karlee

Karlee's front tooth is so slowly falling out and becomes more wiggly each hour...in fact, I don't believe I have ever seen a tooth that needed to come out SOOO bad! I have been trying to get her to open up and let us have a tug on it for over a week! I even told her I would bring her Wendy's for lunch at school if she would let her Dad feel it...she seriously considered this one...but to no avail. I now call her "Joe-Bob Karlee" because she looks like a total red-neck with this displaced wiggly tooth in the front of her mouth! Anyone with suggestions on how to pin her down and take that bad-boy...please fill me in!
