Field Trips Galore!

It's that time of year again...Field Trips and Hershey Track!

Karlee had Hershey Track first this year. She did awesome, once again! She took first in her first race, the 100 meter, and did awesome at her long jump. She took 3rd in the semi-final race and we just had a great day hanging out together. Love it!

Spencer invited me to go to the zoo on his kindergarten field trip...how could I say no?? It was a great day, perfect weather and great company...5 five-year-old boys! It was so funny to hang out with Spencer and his buddies! Boy groups are so busy and a bit harder to keep track of than "girl groups"...but we had a blast! Thanks for the invite Spencer, let's do it again sometime!

Then it was Rylee's turn at the Hershey Track! I knew that Rylee was fast and talented, but she really surprised me! She took 1st in her 50 meter dash and went on the semi-final where she took first again and so it was on to the finals (the top 6 girls in the citywide 4th grade meet)...where she took 2nd! She actually will move onto the District-wide meet next week! She also took 3rd in the long jump out of the whole city and will be competing at that event next week too! You go girl!

Rylee is 10...she made it to the double digits!!

There truly was a time, about 7 years ago, when I wasn't sure that Rylee would survive to the age of 5...but she just made it all the way to 10!! She is so beautiful, creative, stylish and fun! I am just lucky to be her Mom! For her big party she wanted to have some friends over for a Just Dance party and late-night movie. She also wanted to serve marshmallow brownies and ice cream sandwiches on chocolate chip cookies...never the boring usual for Rylee! I simply love this kid and can't imagine our family without her spunky personality. We also took her out for ice cream shakes at Red Robin on her actual birthday! We just adore this girl, Happy Birthday Rys!

Rylee Spring Soccer

Rylee has been playing Spring soccer for the past couple weeks and we are thoroughly enjoying it...as usual! She is awesome and had her first goal of the season this past week. We love her intensity and the way she is a leader on the field. So fun to watch...go Rys! P.S. Rylee ended up scoring 4 goals in her last game of the season! Awesome!

Spencer's a genius!

Spencer learned all about kites in kindergarten recently and has been fascinated. I got him a SpongeBob kite and he has been trying desperately to fly it daily. Some days it works, because there is actually wind and other days he is disappointed as her runs as fast as he can trying to keep it in the air. Then yesterday morning, he was sitting around wanting to fly the kite and I told him there just wasn't any wind and it wouldn't work...a light-bulb went off in his head. He said, "Hey Mom, I know what will work! I can put the kite on my bike and then I can ride it and I won't get tired like when I try to run with it!"...I sat there stunned momentarily by his brilliance and then agreed...what a great idea! It was morning and we convinced Daddy to get out of bed (no easy task) and he came out and helped us to accomplish our attempt...it was good he was there, especially when SpongeBob ended up in a tree at one point. Anyways, it totally worked and it was a fun way to spend the morning. This boy is so awesome and I just love him SO much!

Hoppy Easter Everybunny!

It was a great Easter around our house! The baskets were full of fun and treats and everyone got a duffle bag for summer traveling! I was excited that the Easter Bunny brought me some Peeps (my favorite!) and the Duck Dynasty show on DVD...YES! It was warm enough for Easter eggs outside and after church we decorated Easter eggs. Then we had a yummy dinner at Grandma Clark's house (even though her basement flooded and all the men spent the afternoon and evening pulling out wet carpet!)...it was a fabulous day and we're just super-excited it's Spring around here!

Triple Talent!

It's that time of year again...talent show time! This time around Karlee was too busy preparing for the Student Council skit and getting ready to MC the talent show to do a talent (whew...one less to think about!). Audree decided to sing and chose the song "Give Your Heart A Break" by Demi Lovato. Rylee stuck with hip hop dancing...always a great choice for her! On grade level talent show day Audree did a beautiful job singing...she was confident, hit every note and looked adorable! Rylee did her dance, but we had changed the choreography 2 days before the show and she got stuck in a spot...it was barely noticeable, but she was bummed. Personally, I think she's awesome and did a fabulous job...she is just a natural performer, charismatic, confident and beautiful! Anyways, Karlee did a great job announcing too! Audree made it to the school-wide talent show and Karlee was performing her skit and announcing at that one too...so, Spencer and I had the great privilege of going to the school-wide show on Friday too! It was a fun week of talent and I am always impressed and proud of my kiddos!

Kindergarten Egg Drop!

It's almost a right-of-passage in this family when it's your turn to do the kindergarten egg drop...Daddy gets really excited too! We decided to stick with the foam (same as Audree's) for Spencer's big day. He talked about it for weeks and then we were a bit worried when it started to snow that morning...but the Egg-Drop Must Go On!! And so it did! Spencer's egg survived and it was a chilly, but fun-tastic event! We are a little bummed that we won't get to do that again...it's so weird that the kids are growing up! Anyways, Great Job Spencer!
